Has anyone experienced any benefit from adding or eliminating any food(s) from your diet?

Since Halloween, I've eaten 150 Mars Bars, trying to gain weight, without any luck. Gary

I have nothing to compare it to, but since being diagnosed, I have been trying to eat as healthy as possible...fresh salads, fruits, lean protein etc. I eat natural anti-inflammatory foods like dark chocolate, yogurt and pickles, cut out alcohol, only 1 diet soda a day and lots of water. I feel the healthier I am the better able I will be to fight this disease. I also take omega-3's and alpha lipoic acid. There's so much of this process I can't control but my diet is one thing I can do something about.

That is a very sensible approach. Thank you. I have taken a similar approach but still allow something sweet a few times a week. Also, I have worked up to swimming 30 mins 3X a week. My legs and feet feel more energized the rest of the day afterwards. I have added strengthening exercises 2X a week, too.

A while back I saw a video on the "Gerson Diet" and I wondered if anyone with CIDP had tried that. Initially it was used for treating cancer. some reputable folks have claimed success with neuropathy as well.

**I have eliminated any and all artificial sweeteners from my diet. If I have anything with them in them, I get numbness and tingly from the top of my head to the souls of my feet, I will get a soaring headache that affects my eyesight, then my hands will give out and last but not least my legs will give out and I will hit the floor, all within 30 or so seconds of ingesting the artificial yuck!!!!**
