Gabapention

still taking 4200-4800 mg/day, but if i forget one dose, after 4-5 hours without gabapentin, I to experience pain and sometimes weakness and foot tingles and tangles. i want to change back to nortriptalyne. nortriptalyne seemed to work well for my misdiagnoses of diabetic neuropathy ( which was actually CIDP) for 10+ years (neuroboy was mistaken and I suffered because of it). I now consider gapapentin about as effective a full strength tylenol.

anyone taking nortriptalyne?

for some reason my current PCP is against this drug (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nortriptyline) as he is a New Ager and a bit of a git, however, he does prescribe medical marijuana, so I have another question here... is anyone taking medical marijuana?

thanks

I took it before going to bed. I found that it really helped with the pain, and made it easier to sleep at night. But, I was kinda groggy in the morning, which I didn't care for. The pain really isn't normally too bad for me, so I stopped it. I do keep a bottle for days when the leg pain is particularly bad, though.

I take both Nortripalyne and Gabapention

No it is rare. a cleaner analog (but much more expensive) is lyrica..

Here are some REAL numbers on side effects: http://www.ehealthme.com/quick_search/gabapentin
