Suffering with breathing problems - I know you all care

I’m so sorry for the new development of breathing difficulty for your husband. I have not experienced anything like this in my trials with CIDP, but believe we can adapt and life with much. Can your husband exercise at all? Can he walk or work out to try and stay physically active? If so do as much of it as possible! It’s great to be able to take back some control of body by exercise even if only a little bit!

Oh no, he is paralyzed from the elbows down, and numb from his knees down. Walking from one end of the house to the other is usually enough to require 10 minutes of “rest” time. He can’t even carry on a conversation beyond 2-3 sentences because he is gasping for breath. Not to mention, he has lost so much weight he has no muscle tone. At 6’1" and 138 lbs, there is nothing but skin and bones. All his physical energy is used in just trying to stay alive.

I’m sorry for the demise of your husbands nerves in hands. Please hope for remission and some restoration. It happened for me, so I know it’s possible.
Has he been checked for Wuhan virus? I did not experience breathing problems but did have extreme fatigue. Have your husband try/attempt hand strength exercises like you’d consider for a stroke victim to recover or stop losing functionality.
God bless y’all and heal him.

Would like to hear about the VCP and respiratory issues what the outcome is. Having the same issues.
