Does anyone have any advice on having surgery post GBS? I have read a lot about it and nothing I have read is very supportive of it. Has anyone had surgery and if so how was the experience of recovery?

Hi Melissa,

I had a heart catheterization and OPEN HEART SURGERY December 12, 2013.

My recovery from the surgery went smoothly. I was home in 7days. It took about two and a half weeks at home to really start feeling normal. It's now a a little over two and a half months since the surgery and I feel great. I work part time and drive a car without any problems.

My GBS began in August 2012.

Hope this little discussion helps with your question.

Pete
