I’m suffering from severe CIDP pain all over my body. My legs an hope have lightning bolt type feelings shooting ing legs an feet. Horrible muscle pain sn weakness, can’t bend arms or elbows throb an my hands go completely numb. My shoulders an neck are as hard as rocks an can barely move them. Everything is sore to the touch. So my pain Dr. An I felt it was time to install a pain pump after oral meds were not relieving the pain an the pump trial showed good results. But I’m secretly scared. What if it doesn’t help? What if there’s infection an poor healing? Just was wondering if anyone has had a pain pump put in an what they think about it. Ty hugs Kelly c
I have had CIDP for 18 years. I am 54 yrs old. I have taken every pain medication under the sun. The only thing that has ever worked for me is Fentanyl Duragesic Patches. I am 5’ 4" and weigh about 100#'s and was on 150mcgs of Fentanyl.
My nerve pain was so bad. I am also taking Neurontin 1200 mgs QID (pain) and Cellcept 1000mgs daily (immune suppressant).
My neurologist is the best and has made my life a life!! I am now in remission and have been for a year and 6 months. I still have pain but I am not doing IVIG infusions or plasma pheresis. Very happy about that!!
Good luck. I hope this helps!!
No pain pump, but a neurostimulator has provided me with significant pain relief in my lower legs.
