CMT support group in Upstate NY

The Upstate NY CMTA Support & Action Group

The Upstate NY CMT Support & Action Group was started in April 2010 to offer support, resources and information for those living with CMT. The goal of our group is to inspire hope and perseverance. We usually have a guest speaker with time for open discussion to share or just to listen, and to get to know each other.
We generally meet every other month on Saturday at 1:30 to 3:30 at the Pine Hills Albany library at 517 Western Ave. Albany, NY.

Hey Melinda - I posted this on the entire Ben’s Friends Network blog: http://blog.bensfriends.org/post/4092892666/cmt-support-group-in-upstate-new-york

Hoping to raise awareness for CMT support. We get picked up by bloggers and Twitter people. hope this helps.

This is great Scott! Thanks for helping to get the word out there. I really appreciate it.

We have some great guest speakers lined up. A Yoga instructor, massage therapist, PT and a woman who does bio feedback, who I just met today at the health Fair I participated in.

I’m a yogi and love it. Did it tonight. Feel great.

Good to know. She’s going to demonstrate some yoga positions that can be done sitting in a chair as well. We have one woman, who is in a wheelchair, so hopefully this will be something she can do. Also, will be great for me when I’m too tired to get up from the floor.

I’m going to ask my yoga instructor if she wants to film a couple quick videos for the site. do you think that is a good idea?

That’s a great idea! I was thinking of asking our yoga presenter if she minded if I took photos of her as she demonstrates yoga for CMT’ers.

My instructor said yes! I’m going to record some iPhone videos and see how they come out!
