That's what I thought mine was until I started reading everyone else post. I'm 46 so I'm not sure! I am getting an IVIG every other week. This week will be my fourth one. But I can't seem to tell any difference. If anything I feel worse. I work night turn and on my days off my sleep is out of wack. I woke up at 2:30 a.m. on Saturday. I was ready to go take a nap about 2:00 p.m. when I got company. I pushed myself to stay up. Then my legs started getting really heavy my head hurt and it felt like my spine was twisting out of my body. After two hours of being in pain I told my guest I was sorry but I had to go to bed. By then I had no feelings in my legs at all. I couldn't even walk. When I went to bed from my knees down felt like little needles poking me and my feet felt squeezed. I ended up in bed until 4:30 Monday evening. I over exerted my body and slept for two days. Waking up peridocially with my spine feeling crused. It was awful! From now on I can't worry about who doesn't understand I have to take better care of myself. I am learning to do little things that help like use a stool to sit on to wash dishes or lean on the sink when I wash my hands to take pressure off my legs. And sit down to prepare food for dinner. If I don't those little things exhaust me. Does the weather seem to effect anyones symptoms? Or the food you eat?
The weather definitely bothers my husband. When a cold front is coming in especially in the winter his pain is greatly increased. We don't really know about food. The IVIG never really helped my husband. He was diagnosed in 2005 and tried to work while getting those treatments. He probably took them for 2 years. Not saying this to discourage you cause the IVIG treatments seem to help most everyone, they just didn't him. The side effects of the treatments out-weighed the benefits so his neuro. took him off of them. He would take a treatment and be down and in the bed, be better for maybe 2 days, then it was time for another treatment. He lost his job of 24 years, in which he had worked since he was 15 and was supervisor, because he missed so much work for being sick from the treatments. He is now on disability.I hope the treatments help you. Like I said the majority of people it does help.Good luck and may God bless you.
