Feeling Cold

I am 8 years post my last occurrence of GBS. Over the last couple of years I seem more susceptible to the cold. I feel cold, but to the touch I am warm to others. I’m wondering if anyone knows whether this could be due to nerve damage? I’ve been hospitalized for GBS twice.

This is very normal. We experience peripheral nerve damage with GBS
(http://newsnetwork.mayoclinic.org/discussion/cold-feet-that-arent-cold-to-the-touch-may-indicate-neurologic-problem/). My feet were very cold this past summer, but they’ve gotten better as my nerves have healed. Depending on how much damage you’re left with, they may always be more susceptible to cold. I had been contemplating electric/battery powered socks before mine got better… good time of year to shop for them!

sorry that it has been 2 times how long each time and how was GBS contacted or do you know?? Bob GBS Survivor and happy to be enjoying my living life ,my feet are always cold and numb a bit of fingers too...

To me - I did not experience the cold feeling on my feet.

I am still feeling sensitive to cold toughing my skin... It almost hurts and about sends me thru the roof!!! I'm trying to get my new Dr. I just got to send me to a neurologist to get a nerve conduction test done. My GB was about 27 years ago.. I'm POSITIVE I have permanent nerve damage.

I am more sensitive to both hot and cold since getting sick with GBS. I imagine it has something to do with nerve damage.

I take neurontin every six hours - if I miss my time to take the next dose, my feet and hands get numb and I get chilly. Have to take my pill and put on a sweaater.

I notice that I am more sensitive to heat and cold. I tend to have mild relapses of some of my symptoms with extreme weather. My hands tend to go numb more quickly with cold than I ever noticed before. I had to start wearing my ski gloves at times when others are wearing regular gloves.

I too am sensitive to hot and cold. I can not tolerate the hot water as hot as I use to doing dishes. I can’t get things out of the microwave that are hot. I have to wear thicker gloves in the winter
