I have had CIDP for 38 years. My "go to" treatment is Plasma Apheresis. I have been in remission for 7 years and am not receiving any treatment currently. I see that IVIG is the in vogue treatment but it has lots of side effects. IVIG did not work for me. Is Plasma Pheresis no longer a good option?
Plasmapheresis is the only thing that’s worked for me. I too was surprised that so many are able to make IVIG work. But I’ve also noticed mention of bad side effects from it. The only side effect I’ve noticed from plasmapheresis is I occasionally get cold during the treatment. But I found out they just didn’t have the blood warmer turned up.
