Is touching them painfull?

As I have read peoples posts a lot of people say that they have a burning pain in different parts of their bodies. Some have compared it to your foot being asleep with a pins and needles feeling. If this is the type of pain my husband is having do you think it hurts him when I pat his hand or rub his arms? I don't want to cause him any more pain than necessary, but I also want him to know he is loved and feel support from me. Does anyone remember if touching was painful for them, and if it is how can I show him that I am there for him? The medical professionals don't seem to know many details about GBS.

It never hurt me but I had a milder case. The burning for me was on the inside, not the outside. I had my legs and back lightly massaged daily during that time and it got the bIood circulating. It made the twitching and tingling better. In fact, it helped me to have people there when I was going through the worst symptoms. I was afraid that I was not going to make it and I did not want to be alone.

In my case yes it hurts when touched on my hands, arms and back. Just being their means a lot, Ask your husband what he would prefer.

I agree ask your husband! I had burning pain from the soles of my feet up through my calfs and hamstrings in my left leg. It just burned, burned, burned. It is a weird feeling as it is not like anything you’ve ever felt, the pain is deep down almost like its in the middle of your limbs.

Stretching the affected areas muscle did help take the edge off for me for a short while
