After having Guillain Barre for 11 years, and having neuropathy in my feet all that time, it has recently gotten worse, and now is really uncomfortable. The dr. has upped the strength of the Gabapentin, and I am waiting to see if it helps. I take 3 Gab. a day and 1 Cymbalta. Any suggestions? Even the water in the shower hitting the tops of my feet is painful.
Chickadee,
I am only 9 months in. My feet hurt bad until my DR upped my Gabepentin to 900 mg 3 times a day. I also take cymbalta once a day & Amitriptyline. My pain is very manageable now.
Hi Chickadee and Dave,
I’m year in and take 2 Gabapentin a day. I remember those sore feet very well and found it helped to change shoes and I did up to 3 times a day. Even my comfy slippers caused pain. This pain came usually when I was getting tired. It’s become so much better now for about the past 3 months. My feet are also getting used to being walked on. I was in a wheel chair for 4 months and they got spoiled then. I also noticed that the tingling in my fingers is as good as gone now. This is a very recent thing. I keep a “Progress Journal” and only positive things are allowed in it.
