Hi LRach I got diagnosed w/cidp in mar. 2017. I was misdiagnosed w/ dlrpn. About 2years ago. My therapy history was water based, I did 10 times in about 4 weeks, in that period. It exhausted me even though I was experienced in deep warter running for over 10 years. Just before I was diagnosed I tried land based conventional pt. I tried it for awhile and I really felt even worse, I dropped out. I started IVIG in April and so far it hasn’t helped. My question is should I push myself? Or maybe some people don’t improve until I can get into remission.
Hello…
I was diagnose with CIDP. Suggested Physical Theraphy… But I stop because of unbearable pain. They do not get how much pianful it is.
What is the diff of Physiotheraphy?
Are there Organization I could go that can offer for free in the Philippines.
Sorry Surf that is has taken me so long to respond. I didn’t realize I had a message. What I can say is really based on my own experiences and not what I was taught in school. I never heard of CIDP till I was diagnosed. I would continue with exercise/strengthening/range of motion based on how you are feeling. When I over exert myself, it can bring on pain and fatigue and not be beneficial. I would explain this to your PT so there is an understanding that each day may bring new pain, fatigue and different symptoms. The cardio and or other exercises will help to maintain your mobility and strength as well as endurance. I say keep going but make sure there is good communication between you and your PT. Good luck!!
