Side effects of IVIG

My son suddenly became unwell during his last day of IVIG today with shivering, feeling sick, headache and a fever. They discontinued his IV but said it was probably a virus and not a reaction to the treatment. He usually tolerates it well but it was strange as he was perfectly OK in himself when he arrived at the Centre. Anyone had anything like this - or is it a virus. He aslo is on aziothiamine immune suppressents. Thanks ,

I had the same thing happen, but also had diarrhea (my doctors office said this was not a side effect, but I believe it was) and vomiting. Lasted about 48 hours. They changed the manufacturer and I am doing much better. They also slowed down the rate (takes 6 hours). I hope this helps. Yvonne
