Many friends and family members think I am dealing with a nervous breakdown, thinking all my suffering is in my head! Very tiring and frustrating trying to get across that the pain, fatigue, muscle weakness and other physical symptoms are what G bS involves especially when I already was/am very emotional ( cry easily) and feel quite traumatized by this second bout on Guillainn Barre especially when I never imagined it might hit once again
Your post struck a chord with me, even well intentioned supporters have a tough time with GBS symptoms. I’ve recently taken the approach that no matter how I feel, I’m putting on my happy face.
This may help your friends understand how you are feeling. http://www.butyoudontlooksick.com/wpress/articles/written-by-christine/the-spoon-theory/
Thank you Tommy
