Hi all, I’m still kind of undiagnosed. I have autoimmune arthritis and over the last two years developed a neuropathy problem. I have full body small fibre nerve damage for which I take Gabapentin and often tramadol. I have great weakness and fatigue very easily. The pain is head to toe and is burning, freezing, prickling and strange uncomfortable sensations. What I’m most distressed by is the fact parts of my body are shrinking. My legs and bum are getting smaller and it hurts to sit on my bum, almost like sitting on bone. I’m really self conscious about it and have resorted to padded underwear. Is anyone else affected by muscle atrophy or suspected atrophy? The great concern aside from the visual, pain and discomfort of present is where this may end up and what that then means?
I think this would mean I have more than one type of nerve affected so it’s more of a polyneuropathy than a small fibre only. I really want a clear diagnosis!
