My insurance company threw me under the bus

My insurance company has made the decision to stop all IVIG †reatments for me right away. The rea son they gave me its not "cost effective"Just as I thought I was turning the corner and doing better.MY doctor had started me on prednisone with †he plan to do IVIG treatments every 3 weeks for 2 days.No w I could still do that but with a out of pocket cost to me of 10,000 dollars, thats not happening.

I`am starting †o understand that either you have some awesome insurance or are rich you fall threw the cracks like me.My one motivation was to not give up hope.I`ll have to rethink †hat idea.I can tell you one thing,I will NOT sit in a wheel chair and look out the window and watch the world go by.

Not cost effective?!?!?! Oh, it's MUCH more cost effective to pay for long term therapy, or potentially a vent if it progresses to your diaphragm, etc. I just LOVE it when desk-jockeys think they know more than the doctors. Can you appeal? You may also check with your state ombudsman. Sometimes, they can nudge the insurance company to make sure your rights are protected.

What about ACA? I thought that law prevented lifetime limits?
