I was wondering if anyone had any info/statistics regarding pregnancy?
I've been married for 2 years and reached a 'plateau' with my treatment etc. but as I'm 36 now the clock is ticking! But I'm rather apprehensive as I know things can get 'stirred up' when pregnant.
I really need to know if I should just give up on the idea or if there's a was around it.
I’ve had two pregnancies since being diagnosed. My first pregnancy my CIDP symptoms disappeared during the duration of my pregnancy. I did develop blood clots due to pregnancy/IVIG combo which were treated with Lovenox and went away. i did have a significant relapse post delivery which was treated with increased IVIG to get me back to normal.
My symptoms did not disappear with my second pregnancy, but maintained normally with IVIG I was at my baseline. I just delivered and am currently dealing with another significant relapse, hoping to get back under control with increased IVIG again.
Goes to show each pregnancy is different and while post delivery can be brutal, totally worthy it! Good luck!!
I can only look at your situation as an expectant grandfather myself.
I wonder.Could you be one the first people on the planet to ask that question?
We are few in number and the diagnosis is relatively recent.Speaking for myself,it feels like a pioneering role on a wagon train to somewhere unknown, hopefully Seattle!
I'm really looking forward to becoming a grandfather-nervous times but no phantom pregnancy yet!
Congratulations! That's really sweet. From the info I've been given in the UK as well, it sounds like now I have reached a 'plateau', holding down a job etc. I would be a bit mad to chance going back to square one. So, we are looking at surrogacy! Good luck with every thing. Thank you for the advice everyone!
