Cataracts from CIDP!

Hi everyone,
Very new to this site and searched for cataract problems with no help. I was wondering if anyone has had cataracts come fairly quickly from CIDP?
I started getting vision problems soon after being diagnosed with CIDP like blurry vision, burning eyes, double vision like having letters etc. ghosting above the actual letter and also halo’s from lights. After seeing my eye doctor, I was told I needed cataract surgery. During my steroid infusion today, I asked the nurse about this and she said that CIDP can cause the cataracts. I thought maybe it was more from the steroid infusion but she said it was more from the CIDP. I wonder if anyone else has had cataracts and eye problems within a year of being diagnosed? I am 60 years old and got CIDP symptoms right after a blood transfusion last Fall. Thanks for any input.

HI Ray I had cataract surgery 2 month ago.but my Cidp started in 2007 with ok vision tell i took steroids 3 years ago so i blame steroids but again i"m 70

Thanks. I keep thinking it’s the steroids that caused the eye problems but will ask my doctor at the next appt.
