Disability/cidp

Hello: did anyone have trouble getting disability on CIDP???

I was approved in 3 months. As long as your doctor’s have excellent notes that state they feel you were completely disabled and you submit letters from every professional person you know confirming your physical limitations that they have seen and you may be lucky enough to get approved the first try.

kristypsmick is right on here , I was accepted the first time I applied because of the dr's help and cooperation so I guess I was one of the lucky ones ( if you want to call it that )

Hi Judy, I consider myself lucky in that I got a SS disability on my first try approx. 12 months from my last day of employment. I was diagnosed with cidp in November of 2013. On December 8 , 2013 I was"laid off" f on my he company I had been working for for about two years. The lay off was due to declining business and several other people were laid off at the same time. IwS eligible for unemployment in February, 2014. In January of 2014 I contacted a lawyer who was local. After talking with him over the phone (I never met my lawyer face to face!!)he suggested that I post phone receiving the unemployment and continue the IVIG treatments that I had started in December, 2013. If the treatments worked, then disability would not be needed obviouslyI was lucky that I had health insurance through the company that laid me off until June, 2015.
I cotinued IVIG treatment until August, 2014 with no immprovement so I got back in touch with th e lawyer, we applied for the SS disability in October, 2014 and was awarded theSS disability in late December, 2014, ON THE FIRST ATTEMPT ! I was lucky that I could live with out getting the unemployment and I had complete health insurance during this time. I wish you luck
