Hi Mark, thanks for the link. I had an appointment with my neurologist today and brought this up with him. He said, in my case, my nerves have already been destroyed so there is nothing to remyelinate. It may be helpful for others though.

Hi Darryl, I have read, and now experienced, that L-Carnitine helps with pain control, and helps nerve regeneration. The couple of times I’ve stopped taking it I could really tell a difference. Hope this helps.

I am looking for nerve regeneration information. I have had IVIG Gammagard treatment for years. The advancement of the painful effect seemed to have been stopped and the nerves were being regenearated but pain was still in my feet and legs, Sometimes I feel the nerves are still being destroyed . I have also been told that the regeneration of the nerves are as painful as the destruction. Lately the pain is moving up my legs again and cannot be controlled by medicine I feel the nerves are being destroyed. There used to be a period of mild pain that was controlled with gabapentin. Now the shooting, stabbing pains are back.

@mark1010 this is a really interesting article! Thanks for sharing. While the research was not run on a mouse model for MS, the fact that they were able to remyelinate the regenerated axons is groundbreaking and great progress for medical research! I’m curious if any other progress has been made and if so, what clinical implications it may have! Has anyone else had thoughts?
