Did anyone here contract Clostridioides difficile, or C diff for short while their stay in the hospital? I did. Every time a nurse or technician came into my room they had to cover up with gloves, gowns and mask. I had a hospital room all to myself.
I’m sorry that you had to deal with that. My understanding is that it’s not unusual with extended hospital stays in particular. How have you done since you’ve left the hospital?

That was 8 years ago. My understanding is that I was giving some kind of antibiotic for the pneumonia I developed while intubated. Problem was that while the antibiotic killed the bad bacteria, it also killed the good bacterial in my gut which caused the C Diff to occur.
