I’m trying to figure out about getting my infusion for CIDP and Medicare. I live in Michigan. I found a clinic that will take Medicare, but I need supplemental insurance. The clinic says to make sure the insurance will cover IVIG’s.
you should also talk to the IVIG company. They might help you cover some of the costs of their product
Katz, Medicare supplement insurance companies are obligated by LAW to cover the 20% of all medical charges that Medicare passes on to them. You should never even see a bill. Talk to Medicare about it, and ask the companies you’re considering if you need reassurance. But they have no legal right to question you about your medical condition. If Medicare covers it, medigap policies do too. All medigap policies are standardized. They don’t get to pick and choose what they cover. I’ve been on Medicare and had a medigap policy for several years. Never had a single problem with getting that extra 20% of anything covered.
Hi, I am from Michigan and I am trying to figure out what my future will look like now that I have CIDP. How do you apply for Medicare?
