My doctor prescribed me baclofen for some of the muscle twitching I have. After reading about the side effects I am very hesitant to use it. I tried valerian root last night, as it's well known for helping muscle twitching, and it seemed to actually be pretty effective. Anyone have any experience with it? Whenever I try something new I am cautious (I ran it past my doc and he approved it, although I don't think he even knew what it was) and curious to hear about other's experiences.
I developed GBS on oct.9, 2012 and was in various types of ICU, rehab hospitals, and nursing care facilities for 10 months. I didn't walk until a couple of months after arriving home. I still walk with a cane and have leg and feet pain along with some twitching.
I just started using Valerian Root and 5-HTP a couple of weeks ago to help me sleep ( which it does very well thank God) I also noticed that I do not have as much muscle twitching either so I believe it is helping with that as well. People have been using Valerian Root for centuries so I would give it a try. I am so tired of using big pharma which has so many bad side effects. Just because some guy in a white coat with a stethoscope says something is safe and herbals are ineffective is not necessarily so in my experience. Stay in touch with your results. Good luck.
Thanks for chiming in! I got some and found it to be pretty good. Nothing dramatic, but no ill effects I could see. I hope your regimine helps you!
